<description>Douglas C-54 Skymaster Transport Aircraft US Air Force 

The Douglas C-54 Skymaster was a four-engine transport aircraft developed from the civilian DC-4, designed to provide long-range heavy transport for the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War Two. Used extensively in the Pacific, European, and China-Burma-India theatres, transporting troops, equipment, and fuel, often over hostile territory.
After the war the C-54 flew sustained high-frequency supply missions in the Berlin Airlift, along with Douglas Dakota, Avro York and Short Sunderland types, and formed the basis for later long-range transport designs.

Reissued Minicraft kit. 4 sprues plus clear parts. Choice of markings for 6 aircraft:

It is estimated 20–25 remain airworthy.

Fast, twin-engine medium bomber used by the USAAF during World War II. Entering service in 1941, it featured tricycle landing gear, a sleek fuselage, and was powered by two Pratt &amp; Whitney R-2800 radial engines. Early handling challenges were addressed through design changes, including a broader wingspan and tail. Armed with multiple .50?cal machine guns and capable of carrying up to 4,000?lbs of bombs, the B-26 saw extensive use in Europe and the Mediterranean. Multi-mission maritime patrol aircraft developed by Boeing for the United States Navy, based on the Boeing 737-800 airframe. Designed primarily for anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW), and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations, the P-8A is equipped with advanced sensors, radars, and sonobuoys to detect and track submarines and surface vessels. It can also carry torpedoes, depth charges, and anti-ship missiles.

<description>Grumman XF5F-1 Skyrocket, 1940s Experimental twin-engine carrier fighter aircraft developed by Grumman for the U.S. Navy in the late 1930s.
Powered by two Wright R-1820 Cyclone counter-rotating radial engines, the Skyrocket’s top speed was 358 mph and could climb 10,000 ft in just over four minutes. During diving tests the Skyrocket reached a speed of 485 mph.
One prototype was built and its first flight was on April 1st 1940. At the time it was the Navy’s largest fighter, with a wingspan of 42 ft and length just under 29 ft.
The unique Skyrocket served for research purposes until being dismantled after an accident in late 1944.
The reissue kit by Academy includes parts for the early truncated-nose &amp; short engine nacelles and the late long-nose &amp; extended engine nacelles, originally released by Minicraft as two separate kits.
