Blackburn Shark Mk.II on wheels
Highly detailed 3D-printed scale model of the Blackburn Shark, one of the distinctive British naval aircraft of the 1930s.

The Blackburn Shark was a British carrier-based torpedo bomber and reconnaissance aircraft developed by Blackburn Aircraft. Its prototype first flew in 1933, and the aircraft entered service with the Fleet Air Arm in 1934. The Shark was designed for operations from aircraft carriers and was also adapted for seaplane use. It served with the Royal Navy and later with other operators, including the Portuguese Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force. Although it was eventually replaced by the more capable Fairey Swordfish, the Shark continued to serve in training and other secondary roles during the Second World War.

This model represents the landplane / wheel-equipped version of the aircraft and has been carefully developed to reproduce the characteristic shape, proportions and details of the original Blackburn Shark.

Model features

Highly accurate reproduction of the original Blackburn Shark
High-quality 3D printing with excellent surface detail
Wheel-equipped landing gear
Four different British paint schemes included
Wings divided into upper and lower sections
The wing construction is divided due to the considerable thickness of the wings, allowing the model to be significantly lighter while maintaining the correct appearance and proportions
Designed with attention to the characteristic construction and details of the original aircraft
An excellent choice for aircraft modellers, collectors and enthusiasts of historic naval aviation
The model combines historical accuracy, careful detailing and high-quality 3D printing, making it an attractive addition to any collection of interwar and early WWII aircraft.

Kit Contents

The kit has been designed for modellers who appreciate a high level of detail, accuracy and a comprehensive selection of components required to build the model.

The set includes:

Over 200 precisely 3D-printed parts
Photo-etched components for enhanced detail on selected assemblies
Fully illustrated, full-colour assembly instructions, guiding you step by step through the build
Decal sheet providing markings for four historically inspired paint schemes
Reinforcement wires for the struts and wing structure. Price:£124.99

Blackburn Shark Mk.II – Floatplane Version

Highly detailed 3D-printed scale model of the Blackburn Shark in its floatplane configuration, faithfully reproducing one of the most interesting variants of this British naval aircraft.

The Blackburn Shark was developed in the early 1930s as a carrier-based torpedo-spotter and reconnaissance aircraft. The prototype flew for the first time in 1933, and production aircraft entered Fleet Air Arm service in 1934. In addition to its landplane configuration, the Shark was adapted for operation as a seaplane and could be used from ships equipped for launching and recovering floatplanes. The aircraft was valued for its seaworthiness and good handling on water. Sharks were also operated by the Portuguese Navy, which received six floatplane aircraft in the mid-1930s for coastal defence duties.

This model represents the float-equipped version and has been designed with particular attention to the unusual proportions and structural details of the original aircraft.

Model features

Highly accurate reproduction of the original Blackburn Shark
Floatplane configuration
High-quality 3D printing with excellent detail
Three British paint schemes and one Portuguese paint scheme
Wings divided into upper and lower sections
The wing sections are divided due to the considerable thickness of the original-shaped wings, reducing the overall weight of the printed model while preserving its appearance
The floats are also divided into sections and are hollow inside, reducing weight and material usage
Carefully reproduced characteristic details and proportions of the original aircraft
Ideal for collectors, aircraft modellers and enthusiasts of unusual naval aviation subjects
The combination of an unusual historical subject, the floatplane configuration and highly detailed 3D printing makes this model a distinctive addition to any aircraft collection.
