Curtiss P-40F/L Warhawk ‘Desert Hawks with Merlin’ The P-40 Warhawk / Kittyhawk fighter aircraft were an important part of the USAAF and other allied air forces throughout the war. In many various subtypes, the P-40s fought on all WW2 battlefields. And so, they beared national markings of many forces and were finished in many various and interesting colour schemes.
The P-40F and L airframes differ from other P-40 versions by the power plant as they were the only ones fitted with the British RR Merlin. They were deployed in Africa, Italy and the Pacific. The most famous these Fs and Ls became during the Torch Allied landing in Africa.
Our older kit set is now reboxed with a new sheet of decals offering markings for three airframes. Two of them with US markings, the third one as flown by the British. The four-gun P-40L version can be easily made with the help of (3D-Printed) parts portraying the different gun breech cover panels. (Special Hobby sold out August 2025).
Focke-Wulf Fw-189C/V-6 The Focke-Wulf Fw 189 was produced as the Fw 189A reconnaissance and observation aircraft but also as the Fw 189B for the transport and training role. The chief designer Kurt Tank also prepared the ground attack Fw 189C version, two examples of which were manufactured bu which never reached the production as the Luftwaffe favoured the Hs129.
Our SH72432 model kit depicts the V-6, the final prototype stage of the ground attack Fw189. The kit contains, besides the standard styrene items, also a resin cast gun sight and a fret of etches. The decal sheet brings all the markings of the prototype machine. (Special Hobby sold out June 2025). Price:£14.83

Dassault_Mirage IIICJ The Mirage IIICJ became the symbol of the Israeli air superiority during the wars with the neighbouring Arab countries. The Mach Two, high performance, delta wing fighter aeroplanes were produced by French Dassault, but the Israeli CJ version differed from the airframes built for the French military by not being fitted with the rocket booster motor. The Israeli Mirages took part in the War over Water, Six Day War, Attrition War and the Yom Kippur War as well as several more minor clashes. In its air superiority role, the Mirage did very well indeed, and many of their pilots quickly became aces.
As many as seven styrene sprues plus one with clear parts in the kit are joined by a decal sheet with markings for four IAF machines with the earlier powerplant, the Atar 9B jet engine.

- Superbly detailed model
- Colourful and eye-catching schemes and decals
- And also a 'Black' Mirage completely covered in soot from the explosion of an Arab jet that it had just shot down.
- Pre-cut masks also available, resin detail sets being developed at the moment (Special Hobby sold out July 2025). Price:£15.82

Reggiane Re 2000GA/ III. Serie The Reggiane Re.2000 took part in the standard Italian fighter type competition which was taking place almost in the eve of the war. Even though the type offered high performance, it was not chosen for the military use and was released for export. A few examples entered a trial service with the Regia Aeronautica though, mainly in dangerous missions against the island of Malta.
Our kit consists of four styrene sprues and one clear parts sprue. The GA/Serie III version featured a non-glazed top rear section behind the cockpit. The decal sheet offers markings for four schemes bearing various colours on their noses.
- A Second World War Italian fighter type
- Three colour schemes wearing interesting Italian mottled camouflage
- Separately available " resin sets and pre-cut masks. (Special Hobby sold out June 2025). Price:£19.67

de Havilland Vampire Mk.1 Development of a jet fighter later to be named the Vampire began in 1941 and related closely with the development of the H-1 jet engine, for which the engine section of de Havilland company was responsible. The engine was later to be known under its new name Goblin and its development turned out to be very successful. The Vampire was therefore ordered under Air Ministry specification E.6/41 calling for an experimental machine able to be converted to a fighter plane. The design of the plane was fully adjusted to the new engine, which resulted in overall tiny dimensions of the plane, very low undercarriage and the tail planes being carried by two slim tail booms. Unlike the later marks of the aircraft, the plane's wing featured rounded tips. The first prototype, unofficially named the Spider Crab, flew for the first time on September 20, 1943 with G. de Havilland Jr at the controls. The trials were a success and an order for first 120 planes was placed in May 1944 and was continuously increased. The production planes were also licence-built by English Electric because de Havilland was much too busy producing the Mosquito. The original name Spider Crab, however, was rejected by the RAF and changed to the Vampire Mk.I. First operational squadrons got their Vampires in May 1945, but not early enough to take part in the war. The development continued with further versions, besides those with the DH Goblin engine, there were also versions with the Nene powerplant (airfames built in Australia), two-seat night fighter versions, two-seater training versions or even naval fighter versions (Special Hobby produce the Mk.3 Vampire, model #SH72279 and the Mk.5 Armée de l´Air & Aéronavale, #A117). The Vampire Mk.I also became the first jet aircraft to be used by two neutral countries, Sweden and Switzerland. Our model kit brings in total four marking options of these two neutral countries. Two of the featured airframes bear colours of the Swiss Flugwaffe, white crosses on red background. Machine J-1002 flew in Medium Sea Grey over PRU Blue whilst machine J-1003 was silver dope overall. In Sweden, the Vampire was known as the J-28A and got green camouflage above and grey below. The two Swedish machines were used by different units, the first options carries Red E tail code of No.1 squadron / Wing F13, the other has Yellow L of No.3 Sqn/Wing F3. The model comes on three sprues of grey injection styrene and one frame of clear canopy and wingtip parts. (Special Hobby sold out March 2026). Price:£13.92

Pfalz E.I Pfalz Flugzeugwerke GmbH was established in Speyer in the then Kingdom of Bavaria in 1913 by Alfred Eversbusch, his brother Ernst and several other investors. The first types to be produced by the new company were licence-built Otto biplanes, but production rights for Morane-Saulnier monoplanes were bought before the Great War, namely the Type L parasol-wing two-seat monoplane and Type H mid wing single seater. The latter was built as the Pfalz E.I, fitted with an 80HP Oberursel U0 engine. These aircraft were, in the first place, delivered to Bavarian units. At first without armament and were used as fast scout planes, later after being equipped with machine gun armament with synchronization gear, they became, along with the Fokker E.I, the first true fighter planes of the German military. The armament of one LMG 08/15 machine gun was mounted on the right side of the front fuselage and the machines were used to escort and protect reconnaissance aircraft both on the Eastern and Western Front and smaller number of them also saw service in Palestina. The greatest number of the Pfalz fighter plane was used operationally during April 1916, later their numbers decreased and the Pfalz E.I were either replaced by a more modern E.I type or by much more successful Fokker E.II and E.III fighter planes.

A few years ago, this type was kitted by Gavia, it was very nice and got sold out quite soon. Now, because of our agreement with this company, we are happy to be able to offer you with this interesting WWI machine in our reboxing. Two sprues with styrene parts are accompanied by a PE fret and a piece of clear film. The decals cater for three machines, one of which is adorned with the large coat-of arms of the Kingdom of Bavaria. (Special Hobby sold out March 2026). Price:£19.67

Messerschmitt Me-209V-4 In the 1930s, in the time of the rearmament, Germany tried to showcase their military power also by breaking aviation records. This effort, backed by the state, brought many new records including the most prestigious one, the world speed record. Of interest might be the fact that two German aviation companies rivaled to achieve the record, namely Heinkel and Messerschmitt, each of which had their opponents and sympathizers in the Nazi state offices.

When the Messerschmitt Bf-109V-13 with pilot Dr.Hermann Wurster at the controls achieved the top speed record on 11 November 1937, the Heinkel team had already been working on a new record aircraft, the He 100. The speed record of the Bf-109 V-13 was at first broken by famous WW1 pilot Ernst Udet in the cockpit of the He 100 V2, later on 30 March 1939 also by Hans Dieterle who in fact achieved not only land plane top speed record, but also the absolute top speed record, which until that time had been held by Italian Macchi C.72 racing floatplane. No wonder that the Messerschmitt's answer came very soon as Fritz Wendel achieved 755.138 kmh in a machine that was for the record breaking attempt named the Me 109R to fool the public and make them think it is just an improved variety of the Bf-109 standard fighter. But in reality, it was a completely different type, that had been designed as Project 1059 and got designation the Me 209 by the German Air Ministry (RLM). This high speed version aircraft had been designed as a small low-wing monoplane with retractable undercarriage and pilot's cockpit behind the wing. The plane was fitted with a Daimler-Benz DB601 water cooled engine with a system of wing surface radiators. The cooling water evaporated from those radiators and its supply was enough only for a 30min's flight. The RLM placed order for a total of three speed prototypes and several further prototypes of the planned military fighter version.

The first prototype Me 209V-1 (W.Nr.1185) with registration D-INJR was taken aloft for the first time on 1 August 1938 with Dr.Ing.Hermann Wurster at the controls and with only a half full fuel and coolant tanks. Trouble with the engine, cooling system, stability and also other issues occured right during the first flight. Not even the second prototype, the Me 209V-2 (W.Nr.1186) which made its first flight on 8 February 1939 did any better. What is more, it was destroyed shortly after during a crash on 4 April 1939. As at that time, the world record had already been broken by the He 100V-8, all effort was made to prepare the first prototype (Me 209V-1) for the record attempt. The machine got a unique DB-601ARJ engine, its tail fin was enlarged and the machine was also painted high gloss blue overall. On 26 April 1939, Fritz Wendel managed to break the record, his top speed would not be surpassed until 1969 by the improved version of the Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat Conquest I (gained 820.824 kmh). Although the record machine proved to be a success, the planned military version fell rather short of that. It was fitted with a larger span wing, a standard type of power plant and radiators and also carried a 20mm cannon and two 7.92m MGs. The wing and the empennage were modified several times, but not even the latest upgrades enabled the type to see military service and just boosted the Nazi propaganda.

The Me 209V4 model contains two grey styrene sprues and one clear with a canopy hood. Smaller parts have been 3D designed and are injected into a metal-type mould. The decals offer markings for the V4 machine as it appeared in two various periods of its flying career. While scheme A shows the Me 209V4 as a propaganda machine with number 14 on its fuselage and a red-white snakes on either side of the nose, the other scheme brings the V4 with CS+BW registration as it flew during its test period.
Messerschmitt Bf-109E-1 'Legion Kondor' pre WWII Between 1939-40, the Messerschmitt Bf-109E was arguably the very best fighter aeroplane of the world. The type was produced in two main subvariants differing by the type of armament, either heavily or lightly armed. The lightly armed airframe was fitted with machine guns only, two of them above the engine, the other two in the wings. The versions produced with this sort of armament were the E-1, E-5 and E-6. In Spain, during the Civil War, both the lightly and heavily armed Bf-109s served with the 'volunteer' Legion Kondor. Our kit brings three E-1s wearing a standard grey and blue camouflage scheme. Machine 6-119 has the 'Holzauge' emblem painted on the fuselage, 6-121 sports the very well know Top Hat emblem while the final option, airframe 6-123 has a beer glass and a Mickey Mouse cartoon to make it even more interesting for the modeller.
This release is a follow-up to Messerschmitt Bf-109E-3 and Bf-109E-4 models which have recently been awarded the Models of the Year 2021. The kit comes on two styrene sprues and one clear sprue.
