2. P-47D-16-RE Thunderbolt &quot;Touch of Texas&quot;, Capt. Charles Mohrle, 510th FS, 405th FG, 1944.
3. P-47C-5-RE Thunderbolt Colonel Hubert “Hub” Zemke’s, named “Moy Tovarich” (Russian for my comrade). Zemke taught Soviet pilots how to fly the Lend-Lease P-40 Tomahawk in 1941, before being assigned as CO of the 56th FG – the first group to fly the P-47. Zemke scored his first three kills in this aircraft.
4. P-47D Thunderbolt depicts “The Pied Piper”(42-75885) flown by Lt. Cipipen of the 58 th Fighter Group, 310 Fighter Squadron, based in New Guinea during the Second World War.
5. P-47D Thunderbolt &quot;Fat Cat&quot;, n.42-2557. Capt. Henry Bakken, 509th FS, 405th FG, 1944.
6. Lt. Col. Cass Hough&#039;s Air Technical Section modified the P-47C/D to carry unpressurized 205gal ferry tanks, with limited success.
