<description>McDonnell F-89 Scorpion: A 1/72 version of our recent F-89 Scorpion set. Colorful marking options for one of the most important early jets in USAF history. The F-89 was the first purpose-built, all-weather jet interceptor to enter USAF service. Designed to be used with the 1/72 scale F-89 kits from Academy, Revell, and Hobbycraft, this carefully designed decal set provides twelve different marking options spanning the F-89C, F-89D, F-89H and F-89J variants of this important jet.
From the early Arctic defense missions in Alaska to the high-profile Air Defense Command units of the continental US and its Air National Guard career, these markings capture the diverse history of a Cold War workhorse that stood guard against any airborne threat. Distinctive national insignia, colorful unit emblems, and accurate period-specific stencils all combine to help you recreate a great model of this classic on your workbench.
We recommend the Revell 1/72 F-89D/J kits. Please note that the F-89H option on the sheet requires the use of Hobbycraft 1/72 F_89H hit or aftermarket AIM-4 Genie / rocket pods.
