Boeing RC-135V/W USAF Rivet Joint
Primary airborne signals intelligence aircraft developed from the Boeing C-135 transport in the 1960s. The main tasks of the RC-135V and RC-135W are to identify sources of radio signals in the area of potential combat operations, collect information on land, sea and air targets, intercept radio communication between command posts and combat units, and monitor enemy air defences. Depending on deployment the aircraft crew can include 12 to 16 surveillance operators and analysts for the purpose of operational data collection. Usually the RC-135V and RC-135W perform airborne command tasks together with other reconnaissance aircraft such as the E-3 AWACS, transmitting the gathered intelligence through a special encrypted communication channel. The RC-135V and RC-135W have been in service with the US Air Force for over 40 years and are the main type used for these operations. Three RC-135W Airseekers are in service with the Royal Air Force, converted from KC-135R Stratotankers between 2013 and 2017.

Markings included for USAF RC-135V c/n 18785 AF64-845. The box art is the last work painted for Roden by their talented artist Valery Grigorenko 1963-2022.

USAF Convair XC-99 Heavy Transport Aircraft
The Convair XC-99 was a pioneering American heavy transport aircraft developed from the B-36 Peacemaker strategic bomber. It first flew in 1947 and served with the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1957. At the time, it was the largest land-based transport aircraft in the world, capable of carrying up to 400 fully equipped troops or 45 tons of cargo.

The XC-99 set several aviation records during its operational life and was used extensively by the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. A civilian passenger variant was proposed but ultimately cancelled, and no further production orders were placed. As a result, only a single prototype was built, which survives at Davis-Monthan AFB, albeit in a dismantled state. The XC-99 remained the largest transport aircraft of its kind until the introduction of the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy in the late 1960s... Price:£58.32

German Army Horch V8 Type 830R Command Car
NEW TOOLING
The German Horch 830R was a military light vehicle designed as a command car for army officers. Developed during the inter-war period, the Horch 830R is considered the first example of the ‘Kubelwagen’ type vehicle widely used by the German Army during the Second World War.

The design was based on a simplified Horch luxury car chassis, significantly strengthened according to military requirements. Later variants were used as radio vehicles with box-shaped bodies. (The Horch company was merged into the Auto-Union conglomerate, which also included Audi).

From 1934 to 1937 almost 4,500 units of this type were produced and widely used from the first days of World War II up to and including 1943, when the vast majority were lost in the roadless conditions of the Eastern Front.

1941 Ford V8-G81 Cabriolet German Staff Car
German passenger car built at a subsidiary of the American Ford concern in Germany in the late 1930s, based on the American Ford V8 automobile. Production lasted from 1938 to 1941, during which time more than 8,000 were produced. With the outbreak of World War Two, many Ford V8 G81As were requisitioned from private owners and transferred to German military units.

Cars of this type were extensively used during the Blitzkrieg when the countries of Europe had a wide network of good quality roads. But after the beginning of the Eastern campaign, the use of these vehicles turned out to be impractical due to the road surfaces deteriorating to a terrible state in the autumn and spring, or the limited availability of any roads at all. In Germany the G81A Cabriolet was used mainly as a police car until 1944. A number of different versions of the G81A were developed including the convertible with an open top. These cars were mainly used in combat units as personal transports for middle-ranking officers.
9 sprues. Choice of markings for 4 staff cars: (1) WL-171140, unknown Luftwaffe unit, Ukraine, Summar 1941; (2) WH-923333, Eastern Front, Heeresgruppe Nord, 16.
Sopwith 1½ Strutter WWI Comic Fighter, 1917/18 WAS £69.99. TEMPORARILY SAVE 1/3RD!!!
Night fighter-interceptor converted from the standard two-seat 1½ Strutter in late 1917.

Modifications involved moving the pilot's seat to the rear of the aircraft and replacing the synchronized Vickers machine guns with Lewis guns on Foster mountings. This gave the pilot a better view but also made the aircraft more difficult to control.

The Sopwith 1½ Strutter was called "Comic Fighter" by the pilots of 78 Squadron, Royal Flying Corps, because of its unusual appearance and handling characteristics.

A very limited number of this version served in the British Home Defence units, fighting against German raiders (Gotha bombers and R-planes) from late 1917 to early 1918. The aircraft was difficult to control and had a limited range, leading to the type's early withdrawal.
Markings for 2 aircraft: (1) Hooper-built w/n A6906, No 78 (HD) Sqn RFC, based at Suttons Farm, flown by Lt J.S. Castle, December 1917; (2) w/n B762, No 78 (HD) Sqn RFC, based at Martlesham Heath during summer/autumn 1917 and reallocated to Home Defence in August 1917. This aircraft was not assigned to any one pilot in particular.. Price:£38.88

Sopwith 1½ Strutter WWI Fighter, 1916/17
The Sopwith 1½ Strutter biplane was the first Allied fighter equipped with a synchronized machine gun. Designed by the Sopwith Aviation Company, Kingston-on-Thames, and known initially as the Sopwith LCT (Land Clerget Tractor), it was renamed "1½ Strutter" after the cabane struts as the distinctive W form was reminiscent of half-struts.
The 1½ Strutter's first flight was in mid-December 1915, with No 5 Wing RNAS (Royal Naval Air Service) taking delivery of the type first in April 1916. 1½ Strutters were also ordered by the RFC (Royal Flying Corps). To meet demand for the two-seat (Type 9400 fighter) and single-seat (Type 9700 bomber) versions, the 1½ Strutter was also built under licence by Morgan & Co, Hooper, Westland, Vickers, Mann & Egerton, and Ruston & Proctor. Sopwith's and the subcontractors completed 1282 1½ Strutters of all types.
At the same time France urgently needed a new fighter-bomber and purchased a limited number of 1½ Strutters from Sopwith. A licence was obtained to manufacture 1½ Strutters in France, receiving designations 1.A2 for two-seat reconnaissance planes, and 1.B2 for two-seat fighter-bombers. Together with the single-seat version, France built 4497 1½ Strutters. Price:£58.32

Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker The Boeing KC-135 is an air-to-air refuelling aircraft developed in 1956 by the Boeing Aircraft Company from the quadjet prototype Boeing 367-80/707 airliner. The aircraft proved to be one of the most successful of its type and more than 600 were built. Its military service lasted more than 60 years, during which time several engine and avionics upgrades took place. The KC-135R variant with the CFM F108 engine appeared in the late 1990s and turned out to be one of the last in the huge KC-135 family.
Aircraft of this type took an active part in all military conflicts from the Vietnam War onwards. KC-135s delivered fuel air-to-air to almost every type of US Air Force aircraft, and their contribution to the overall military cause cannot be fully estimated. In 2019, the KC-135 was replaced by the next generation KC-46, and the KC-135 began to be decommissioned, some of them being transferred to aviation museums. In addition to the US Air Force, they were operated in small numbers by the French and Singapore air forces.. Price:£39.99

Intercity bus designed in the mid-1930s by Yellow Coach for one of the largest US coach companies, Greyhound Lines. The bus was a revolution in auto construction; corrugated aluminium and plastic materials were widely used in its build. Special attention was paid to maximum comfort for passengers. Following the construction of a wide network of high-quality highways during the Great Depression, rail passenger traffic almost stopped due to its inability to compete with high speed road transport. Series construction was undertaken at the Pontiac West Assembly plant in Pontiac, Michigan, where General Motors built pick-ups and trucks. In addition to Greyhound Lines, buses of this type were used by other national carriers such as Trailways Travels. Silverside bus operations continued almost until the end of the 1950s, after which a large number were sold to other countries, notably in Latin America.. Price:£66.66

North-American AJ-1 Savage WAS £64.99. TEMPORARILY SAVE MORE THAN 1/3RD!!! The North-American AJ-1 Savage was a US carrier-borne bomber designed in the 1940s. Its main task was to carry and deliver a nuclear weapon, which at that time, due to its size, had to be deployed by aircraft near the target zone. Series production began in 1949 and continued until 1952 when a greatly improved AJ-2 version appeared. Due to frequent accidents during take-off and landing from aircraft carriers, it was decided to use the AJ-1 mainly for training, or as a bomber with conventional weapons. As the AJ-2 overcame the earlier shortcomings the AJ-1s were retrofitted to AJ-2 configuration and operated again from deck carriers with nuclear weapons. After retirement from the bombing role, they were employed as air-to-air refuellers. The AJ-1 was assigned to aircraft carriers sent to the South-East Asia region after the start of the Korean conflict, but no aircraft of this type were involved in this war or afterwards.

Convair NB-36H Crusader. WAS £74.99. TEMPORARILY SAVE 1/3RD!!!
The Convair NB-36H Crusader was an American research aircraft built in 1955, based on the B-36H bomber to determine the possibility of installing a nuclear reactor and so remain airborne for a long time. The nuclear reactor was located in the rear of the bomber, and its operation was monitored via telemetry by specialists seated next to the crew in a special compartment protected by lead shielding.
In all, from 1955 to 1957, the NB-36H Crusader made 47 test sorties, during which the nuclear power plant was turned on only as an auxiliary unit. Due to numerous risks, the principal of which was the unresolved issue of significant contamination in the event of the crash of such an aircraft, the research program was terminated and all future projects involving this type of aircraft were considered too dangerous.. It was based on the He 111H front-line bomber, two of which were combined in one aircraft with a common wing centre-plane and an additional fifth engine to improve flight performance, primarily enabling the aircraft to haul heavy gliders. Twelve He 111Zs were built in 1941-1942, which were delivered to a special squadron. Their main purpose was the rapid air transport of troops or large volumes of cargo. Aircraft of this type took part in transporting supplies to the Stalingrad region; in the evacuation of personnel from Crimea; and later they had to operate on the Western Front. By the end of the war, there were only four surviving He 111Zs. Even at this time the idea of using them as long-range bombers was considered, but these intentions were never realised in the rapidly deteriorating war situation.

Mass production was undertaken at the Pontiac West Assembly plant in Pontiac, Michigan, where General Motors built pick-ups and trucks. Once the United States entered World War II the mass transportation of military recruits presented a major challenge. The solution was to use Greyhound buses. As early as 1942 they carried more than 130 million passengers, both military and civilian, an impressive figure accounting for almost half the country's population. After the war, Silversides continued in passenger traffic in the US. Some were sold to third countries, mainly in Latin America. The Greyhound Silverside bus is one of the icons of the United States, along with Ford cars and Boeing aircraft, embodying the significant technological progress the country made in the first half of the 20th century.. Mobile strategic aircraft complex consisting of C-133 aircraft and PGM-17 Thor missile. The main objective was to quickly deliver intermediate-range ballistic missiles (IRBM) by transport aircraft to remote points in other continents, placing missiles as close as possible to the borders of potential adversaries. From 1959 to 1963 missiles of this type were transported to Great Britain on C-133A aircraft. In October 1962, when humanity was on the brink of global nuclear conflict, placement of PGM-17 Thor at British bases was a key factor in forcing the Soviet Union to reverse its decision to deploy its missiles on the island of Cuba, in the immediate vicinity of US borders. After the de-escalation of political tensions in the world, all PGM-17 Thors based in the United Kingdom were returned to the United States by the same C-133A aircraft.
