Lockheed-Martin F-35B Lightning The F-35 Lightning II is an ambitious aircraft that aims to meet the needs of different U.S. service arms via three variants: the F-35A for the Air Force, the F-35B for the Marines, and the F-35C for the Navy. Perhaps the most adventurous of the three is the F-35B, which is intended to take the place of the AV-8B Harrier II: the lift fan positioned between the engine and the cockpit and a 3 bearing swivel module system endow the F-35B with short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) capability in addition to its supersonic airspeed, extreme low observability and exceptional situational awareness.

About the Model
The extremely stealthy F-35B is recreated with great accuracy, including finely molded raised RAM sections. ?The aircraft is depicted with the nozzle pointing downward, either hovering or already landed. ?2 different sets of landing gear parts (compressed and extended) are included. ?AIM-9X and AIM-120C ordnance is included. ?Comes with a pilot figure, stand for a hovering F-35B model, and 5 marking options..
Airspeed Oxford and Consul By William Harrison
52 pages

With more than 8,750 built the Oxford was a well thought-out design that was based on their Airspeed Envoy, a similar shaped twin-engine executive aircraft that was used in the early 1930s but the more advanced design of the Oxford suited the military requirement for a three-seat training aircraft. The Oxford was a low-wing cantilever monoplane of advanced design and was produced for the training of pilots in handling modern, multi-engine bomber aircraft. Wooden construction was employed throughout making for a simpler design and easier repairs. Provision was made for instruction in pilot training, aerial photography, navigation, aerial photography, and bombing training. An Armstrong-Whitworth gun turret could be installed for training in aerial gunnery. After the War the Consul was conceived as a small airliner, chiefly converted from ex-military Oxfords with more than 160 rebuilt. These quickly sold to potential airline operators and were eventually used in many countries, some changing hands four or five times. The Oxford and the Consul were relatively safe flying machines and with thousands of bomber pilots undertaking their flying training in the type it played a major part in the RAF's war effort, and is widely regarded as a design the manufacturers could be proud of. This book is written by William Harrison with artwork by Sam Pearson. [Lynx Castor]. Price:£18.00

Airspeed Oxford Mk.I 'Gunner Trainer' The Airspeed Oxford was a British aeroplane developed early in the war and mainly used in training of multi-engine aircraft crews " pilots, navigators, gunners. The Oxfords saw service with the RAF as well as with air forces of other Commonwealth countries (RNZAF, RCAF, RAAF and SAAF). In the post war years, many Oxfords were also delivered to even more other countries. The Mk.I version of the Oxford was produced with the dorsal gun turrent and was mainly used for gunnery training.
And this is the version that our model represents. The styrene parts come with resin items and etches, and the decals offer markings for war time machines operated by the RAF, RNZAF and RCAF and a post war, yellow and blue machine of the RNAF " Royal Norwegian Air Force.
- Etches and resin cast parts already in the box.. Price:£34.67

'Marston Mat', was a very common covering used for makeshift runways, parking areas and other military uses where rough ground was prevalent. Each panel measured 1 ft 7.5 in by 11 ft 9.75 in, and interlocked with its neighbour by a series of flat 'T' hooks and slots along each of the longest sides, which allowed a degree of flexibility of movement. PSP was used by Allied armies and air forces on all fronts during World War Two and continued in use through the Korean War and well into the Vietnam War. During the latter conflict however, PSP was found to be unsuitable to that environment due to vegetation growing through the lightening holes which could be ingested into aircraft intakes. PSP was gradually replaced with the improved M8A1 type which omitted the lightening holes. Millions of PSP strips were produced and it is still commonly found around the world to this day in both civilian and limited military use around the world.

I-7U SUPERSONIC INTERCEPTOR PROTOTYPE.

Brief history: In the beginning of 1956, the "OKB-155"(Mikoyan-and-Gurevich) Design Bureau began developing new supersonic interceptor under designation I-7U.

I-7U had all-metal construction with mid-mounted 55° swept wing , fuselage with circular cross-section, single-seat pressurized cockpit, adjustable cone inlet at the front the fuselage accommodating radar antenna, adjustable horizontal stabilizer and 2 additional airbrakes under the fuselage, just in front of the wing roots.The armament consisted of two NR-30 cannons, located in the wing roots. Powered by Lyulka AL-7F engine with nominal thrust of 6300 kg. and 10,000 kg with afterburning, the aircraft was supposed to reach 2M airspeed.

The I-7U's maiden flight took place on April 22, 1957, few months later - the sole prototype suffered damage as a result of the starboard undercarriage leg failing when the aircraft landed following its 13th flight. After repair, the test program was resumed, but involved only six more flights till the February1958, when the project was terminated by the Chief Designer due to the unsatisfying flying performance. However, I-7U became one of the first planes of the new "Heavy MiG's" family.

Kit includes:

106 pcs.
photo-etched sheet;
adhesive masks;
1 decal sheet (USSR, during tests). Price:£23.33
