exceedingly common ammunition boxes designed in WW2 and still in use today. You can find WWII examples repainted and re-stencilled still used to both store ammunition (everything from 6pdr to grenades and more) and very commonly welded to AFVs (Ive seen them
on Churchills, Ferret and everything in between) as extra stowage boxes

Made from measurements of my own C238 box (which you can often see on the ITA3 stand at shows)

Handley Page Night Bombers 0/100, 0/400 & V/1500 Author: W.A. Harrison

By William Harrison

The Handley Page 0/100, 0/400 and V/1500 were the first true heavy bombers of the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force during the First World War, giving Britain the long-range striking power needed for strategic bombing deep into Germany. Designed initially with a 114ft wingspan (later 100ft), folding wings, armour protection and twin engines, the early 0/100s were underpowered and slow. Performance improved dramatically with the arrival of Rolls Royce Eagle engines. Bomb capacity also grew from six 100lb bombs to loads of sixteen 112lb, and eventually to 230lb, 250lb, 550lb, 1,600lb and even 3,360lb weapons. After successful trials, the 0/100 entered service and was refined into the 0/400, which crews regarded highly. These aircraft enabled the RFC/RAF to take the air war to the enemy, but demands for even greater range led to the creation of the enormous V/1500, capable of reaching Berlin. The war ended before such a raid could be flown, and the type saw little operational use.

After the Armistice, surplus 0/400s were converted into civil transports, becoming the O/7, O/10 and O/11 variants. They were used in early commercial aviation and exported to countries including Argentina, Australia, China, India and South Africa. One 0/400 even carried T. E. Lawrence during his return from the Versailles Conference, though the aircraft later crashed without injuring him. By 1922 most Handley Page bombers and their civilian derivatives had disappeared, but they had already laid the foundations of long range military and civil aviation.

Warpaint 153 follows the usual format telling the full history of the development and service, and includes a walkaround compiled from original images of aircraft in service, and colour profiles and plans by Sam Pearson.. Price:£17.00

Focke-Wulf Fw-189A ‘Owls over the Eastern Front’ In 1937, the RLM (Reichsluftfahrtministerium) issued specifications for a new Luftwaffe reconnaissance aircraft. The companies Blohm Voss with their asymmetric BV 141, Arado with the single-engine Ar 198 and Focke Wulf with the Fw 189 project participated in the competition. The winner was the Focke Wulf.
Like the BV 141, the Fw 189 stood out with an unusual technical solution. Chief designer Kurt Tank designed the aircraft with a central fuselage nacelle and two tailplane booms from the engine nacelles. This provided the crew of three with excellent visibility. The prototype flew for the first time in July 1938 and the pre-series Fw 189 A-0s were delivered in September 1940. Production continued with the first series version of the Fw 189A-1. It was produced at the Focke Wulf factory in Bremen, where production was soon halted due to the production of the Fw 190. From March 1941, the Prague Aero factory supplied the Fw 189 (production ceased in 1943). Other Fw 189s were produced until 1944 in French factories in Bordeaux-Mérignac. In the second half of 1941, the A-1 version was replaced on the production lines by the A-2 version with more powerful armament. A small series of training and liaison versions B was also built, differing in the shape of the fuselage nacelle and other details. A ground attack version, designated Fw 189C, was tested in prototypes; the first prototype Fw 189V1 crashed, and even the modified prototype Fw 189V-6 did not convince.
The vast majority of Fw 189 aircraft served on the Eastern Front. The Focke-Wulf Fw 189 A proved to be capable of handling from unpaved airfields, with excellent maneuverability and reliability. Several Fw-189A-1s were even fitted with the FuG-212 Lichtenstein C-1 radar and an oblique cannon and used as night fighters in Romania in 1944. The Fw 189 also saw service with the Slovak, Hungarian and Romanian air forces.
Kit Fw 189A-1 SH72546 includes three plastic parts sprues, a clear parts sprue and 3D printed parts. The decals feature two German aircraft, one captured Soviet aircraft and one Norwegian aircraft. This originally German aircraft from the Eastern Front flew to Norway just before the end of the war and was used by the Norwegian air force after the war.

US Army AN/TWQ-1 Avenger Mobile Air Defence System
NEW TOOLING

AN/TWQ-1 Avenger is a vehicle-mounted short-range air defence (SHORAD) system developed by Boeing as a privately funded project during the Cold War. Designed to protect ground forces from low-altitude threats such as Soviet Mi-24 Hind helicopters and Su-25 Frogfoot ground attack aircraft. Avenger entered US Army service in 1990 following trials in the mid-1980s, replacing earlier gun-based systems. The Avenger has since been adopted by the US Marine Corps and exported to several allied nations; a small number were supplied to Ukraine, becoming operational in early 2023. Over 1,100 systems were produced, with several hundred still in active and in National Guard service.
Mounted on M1097 "Heavy" HMMWV chassis variants, the Avenger carries a pedestal-mounted launcher with eight FIM-92 Stinger missiles, compatible with all missile versions and capable of day-night, all-weather operation. The Stinger is an infrared-guided, fire-and-forget weapon with supersonic speed and a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, offering engagement ranges of several kilometres depending on the variant. The Avenger can fire while stationary or moving and demonstrated a high success rate during testing, with onboard reloads allowing for rapid re-engagement.
In addition to missiles, the system is armed with an FN M3P .50 calibre (12.7 mm) machine gun, a high-rate-of-fire variant designed specifically for the turret. The system is operated by a two-person crew using an automated fire-control suite combining optical and infrared sensors, IFF (Identification Friend or Foe), and optional radar cueing. Powered by a 6.5-litre diesel engine and featuring all-wheel drive, high ground clearance, and central tyre inflation system, Avenger offers strong cross-country mobility. It ultimately outlasted heavier platforms such as the M6 Bradley Linebacker, which was retired in the mid-2000s as air defence priorities shifted, though the Avenger has seen a significant resurgence in relevance due to the modern proliferation of cruise missiles and loitering munitions.

All new tooling HMMWV & Avenger PMS turret. Build options for US Army, US Marine Corps, Ukrainian Armed Forces, ROC Army. Two versions of Control Display Terminal (CDT), two versions of front bumper. New tooling FIM-92 Stinger launcher tube and missile/eject motor. New tooling M3P .50 cal machine gun. Launcher pod interior detail (basic), Avenger PMS turret interior detail. Photo-etch parts. Price:£70.82

Chinese Army ZRY-222 & "Robot Wolves" Robotic Ground Combat System

ZRY-222 is a tracked unmanned combat ground vehicle designed to support PLA ground forces with a mix of reconnaissance, fire support, and risk-reduction roles. Built on a compact remote-operated chassis, it typically carries a heavy machine gun and anti-armour or multi-purpose missiles, allowing it to engage targets without exposing crews. Its sensors and communication suite enable operation across difficult terrain and integration with wider battlefield networks, giving commanders a small, mobile platform that can scout ahead, provide covering fire, or operate as part of a mixed manned–unmanned group.
Quadrupedal “Robot Wolves” are medium-sized autonomous ground systems developed to accompany infantry units and robotic formations in reconnaissance, fire support, and logistics roles. Weighing around 70 kg and designed to move over complex or uneven terrain, they can climb obstacles, maintain formation with troops, and carry sensors or weapons depending on the variant. Their networked architecture allows them to share real-time information with humans and other unmanned systems, contributing to distributed surveillance and coordinated targeting.

Chinese Army ZTZ-100 Main Battle Tank

The ZTZ-100 (Type 100) is a fourth-generation main battle tank (MBT) developed for the People's Liberation Army (PLA). First displayed publicly during the 2025 Victory Day Parade, the vehicle is scheduled for induction into the PLA Ground Force between 2025 and 2026. Its design incorporates an unmanned turret and a three-person crew capsule located within the hull.
Primary armament is a 105 mm autoloaded gun. Secondary armament consists of a remote weapon station (RWS) mounting a 30 mm autocannon and a 12.7 mm machine gun for anti-infantry and light-armour engagements. Protection is provided by a combination of passive composite armour and a dual GL-6 Active Protection System (APS) intended to intercept guided missiles and top-attack munitions.
The vehicle utilises a 1,500 hp hybrid diesel-electric powertrain, providing a top speed of approximately 80 km/h (50 mph) and a reduced acoustic and thermal signature. As a network-integrated platform, the ZTZ-100 functions as a data node, linking with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), artillery, and other combat units for cooperative targeting and beyond-visual-range engagements.
The ZTZ-100 indicates a shift in Chinese armoured doctrine towards lighter, automated platforms. The design prioritises electronic integration and situational awareness over the traditional heavy-tank mass found in earlier ZTZ-96 or ZTZ-99 variants.

The kit: Hatches can be fitted open or closed. Moveable suspension and road wheels, workable tracks. Photo-etch parts included. Choice of 2 markings.. Price:£27.49

The LMV Lince light multirole tactical vehicle was developed by the Italian company Iveco Defence Vehicles in the early 2000s to meet the need for a new-generation light armored vehicle for troop transport and advanced reconnaissance, capable of operating on any type of terrain and in all operational conditions. It is still considered today one of the most successful light tactical vehicles in its category, capable of offering a good level of protection against small-arms fire and shrapnel. The Lince’s crew compartment is designed as an armored “capsule” independent from the chassis, a solution that improves crew protection in the event of explosions beneath the hull. The Lince has been deployed in numerous operational theaters, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and the Balkans.. Price:£41.66

model 139/WH-1 ‘Early Dutch East Indies Bomber’ The Martin company started the revolution in aircraft construction with their Model 139 bomber that was also designated by the USAAF B-10, B-12 or B-14 depending on the engines used. In the early 1930s, the air was dominated by fabric-covered biplanes and then suddenly an all-metal monoplane appeared, with closed crew cockpits and cowled engines. Those new bombers were not only faster than other competing bombers, they were also faster then the fighter planes of the day. This meant the need for new, changed fighter plane design worldwide.
The Model 139 also earned export success. The bombers were delivered to militaries of several countries, among which was also Dutch East Indies that got two versions, the WH-1 and WH-2 differing in versions of their R-1820 power plants and the type of the cowlings. This model kit portrays the first version, the WH-1 equipped with R-1820-F53 radials. The colour schemes and decals cover three blue and yellow machines of the ML-KNIL (Royal Netherlands East Indies Army Air Force), two of which with segmented roundels, the third with the orange triangles instead of roundels, and the fourth machine is a Thai Air Force WH-1. Thailand placed order for these bombers before the outbreak of the war plus also bought some more which were originally Dutch machines later captured by the Japanese. This fourth machine also has quite interesting colour scheme as through the Japano-Thai camouflage slightly peels off showing the underlaying Dutch yellow and blue scheme.

- excellent model kit of an revolutionary aircraft
- the WH-1 version has never been released in styrene format before
- interesting colour schemes and markings
- pre-cut masks, sold separately, also offered for this model kit. Price:£29.16

Honda CB1000F
This model assembly kit recreates the HONDA CB1000F in 1/12 scale with all the details and intricacies motorcycle model builders have come to know from Tamiya.

About the Honda CB1000F
Honda’s CB series of road sport bikes has a long and proud history of innovation; it started with the 1959 Benly CB92 Super Sports and includes machines such as the genre-defining 1969 CB750 FOUR and its inline-four engine, the DOHC 4-valve engine CB750F/900F developed for the European market, and the race-focused 1981 CB1100R. Fast forward to March 2025 and Honda announced that its existing flagship CB1300SF would be passing on the torch to the CB1000F Concept. Shortly after, in November of that year it went on sale as the CB1000F. The CB1000F’s “Best Balance Roadster” design concept demanded that it be at home in a variety of scenes from everyday use to touring. It inherits and updates the iconic “Flowing Line” styling popularized on its CB750F/900F predecessors, the shape flowing smoothly from the tank right back to the rear cowl, via the side covers to give the bike its powerful and speedy silhouette. The round LED headlight catches the eye with its modern, yet traditional design encircled by a ring-shaped light and featuring a plated rim and central section inscribed with the HONDA logo. At the rear, the seat’s surface pattern is inspired by the CB750F, and the eye is drawn to design cues like the large taillight and the muffler that dominates the right side of the bike. Sources say the CB designation stands for the C in “motorcycle” and the B in “clubman,” but it could be argued that this new iteration has a C for “creative” and a B for “benchmark.” Either way, it promises hours of stress-free riding for all: another icon in a series full of them.

Schwimmwagen T166 This model assembly kit recreates the wide wheel version of the German Schwimmwagen in 1/35 scale. It compliments Tamiya’s popular German Schwimmwagen (item 35224) kit as it adds a variant version. The wide wheel version included wide tires and added equipment such as MG35 machine gun and two new figures.

About the German Schwimmwagen Type 166 (Wide Wheel Version)
Criss-crossed by rivers and dotted with wetlands, European geography poses significant military challenges and led the German Wehrmacht to develop the Schwimmwagen, an amphibious vehicle based upon the Ferdinand Porsche-designed Kübelwagen. With a 4-cylinder gasoline engine capable of 25hp, the Schwimmwagen featured the 80km/h top speed on ground. The rear three-bladed screw propeller was lowered manually using a rod and provided water speed up to 10km/h. While paucity of materials meant many Schwimmwagen used 133mm tires, those with wider 200mm tires enjoyed superior off-road performance.

• 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 113mm, width: 42mm.
• Features realistic depictions of suspension and 4-cylinder gasoline engine.
• Newly molded C parts realistically recreate the following features: 200mm wide tires (Tires are split into pieces to recreate tire patterns.), wheels, MG34 machine gun, Panzerfaust 30 (anti-tank weapon) and Kar.98k rifle fixed to crossbar, windshield with or without cover, and other equipment.
• Position canteens and helmet as you wish.
• Two new figures (one driver and one officer) are included.
