Focke-Wulf Fw-189A ‘Owls over the Eastern Front’ In 1937, the RLM (Reichsluftfahrtministerium) issued specifications for a new Luftwaffe reconnaissance aircraft. The companies Blohm Voss with their asymmetric BV 141, Arado with the single-engine Ar 198 and Focke Wulf with the Fw 189 project participated in the competition. The winner was the Focke Wulf.
Like the BV 141, the Fw 189 stood out with an unusual technical solution. Chief designer Kurt Tank designed the aircraft with a central fuselage nacelle and two tailplane booms from the engine nacelles. This provided the crew of three with excellent visibility. The prototype flew for the first time in July 1938 and the pre-series Fw 189 A-0s were delivered in September 1940. Production continued with the first series version of the Fw 189A-1. It was produced at the Focke Wulf factory in Bremen, where production was soon halted due to the production of the Fw 190. From March 1941, the Prague Aero factory supplied the Fw 189 (production ceased in 1943). Other Fw 189s were produced until 1944 in French factories in Bordeaux-Mérignac. In the second half of 1941, the A-1 version was replaced on the production lines by the A-2 version with more powerful armament. A small series of training and liaison versions B was also built, differing in the shape of the fuselage nacelle and other details. A ground attack version, designated Fw 189C, was tested in prototypes; the first prototype Fw 189V1 crashed, and even the modified prototype Fw 189V-6 did not convince.
The vast majority of Fw 189 aircraft served on the Eastern Front. The Focke-Wulf Fw 189 A proved to be capable of handling from unpaved airfields, with excellent maneuverability and reliability. Several Fw-189A-1s were even fitted with the FuG-212 Lichtenstein C-1 radar and an oblique cannon and used as night fighters in Romania in 1944. The Fw 189 also saw service with the Slovak, Hungarian and Romanian air forces.
Kit Fw 189A-1 SH72546 includes three plastic parts sprues, a clear parts sprue and 3D printed parts. The decals feature two German aircraft, one captured Soviet aircraft and one Norwegian aircraft. This originally German aircraft from the Eastern Front flew to Norway just before the end of the war and was used by the Norwegian air force after the war.

US Army AN/TWQ-1 Avenger Mobile Air Defence System
NEW TOOLING

AN/TWQ-1 Avenger is a vehicle-mounted short-range air defence (SHORAD) system developed by Boeing as a privately funded project during the Cold War. Designed to protect ground forces from low-altitude threats such as Soviet Mi-24 Hind helicopters and Su-25 Frogfoot ground attack aircraft. Avenger entered US Army service in 1990 following trials in the mid-1980s, replacing earlier gun-based systems. The Avenger has since been adopted by the US Marine Corps and exported to several allied nations; a small number were supplied to Ukraine, becoming operational in early 2023. Over 1,100 systems were produced, with several hundred still in active and in National Guard service.
Mounted on M1097 "Heavy" HMMWV chassis variants, the Avenger carries a pedestal-mounted launcher with eight FIM-92 Stinger missiles, compatible with all missile versions and capable of day-night, all-weather operation. The Stinger is an infrared-guided, fire-and-forget weapon with supersonic speed and a high-explosive fragmentation warhead, offering engagement ranges of several kilometres depending on the variant. The Avenger can fire while stationary or moving and demonstrated a high success rate during testing, with onboard reloads allowing for rapid re-engagement.
In addition to missiles, the system is armed with an FN M3P .50 calibre (12.7 mm) machine gun, a high-rate-of-fire variant designed specifically for the turret. The system is operated by a two-person crew using an automated fire-control suite combining optical and infrared sensors, IFF (Identification Friend or Foe), and optional radar cueing. Powered by a 6.5-litre diesel engine and featuring all-wheel drive, high ground clearance, and central tyre inflation system, Avenger offers strong cross-country mobility. It ultimately outlasted heavier platforms such as the M6 Bradley Linebacker, which was retired in the mid-2000s as air defence priorities shifted, though the Avenger has seen a significant resurgence in relevance due to the modern proliferation of cruise missiles and loitering munitions.

All new tooling HMMWV & Avenger PMS turret. Build options for US Army, US Marine Corps, Ukrainian Armed Forces, ROC Army. Two versions of Control Display Terminal (CDT), two versions of front bumper. New tooling FIM-92 Stinger launcher tube and missile/eject motor. New tooling M3P .50 cal machine gun. Launcher pod interior detail (basic), Avenger PMS turret interior detail. Photo-etch parts. Price:£70.82

McDonnell F-15E Eagle Boise Butchers October 2024 to July 2025, the T-Bolts of the 389th Expeditionary Fighter Generation Squadron and Expeditionary Fighter Squadron flew combat missions from an undisclosed location in the Middle East. Supporting Operations INHERENT RESOLVE, ROUGH RIDER, and six other named operations, the T-Bolts generated and flew 2019 sorties totaling 8,389 hours on what became the longest combat aviation deployment in CENTCOM history. The team expended 508 munitions, eliminating 285 ISIS and Houthi enemy combatants, shooting down 109 enemy drones, and destroying untold enemy bunkers and munitions storage facilities. This included an 8-ship strike package, each jet loaded with three JASSMs, a first for any fighter. Additionally, the T-Bolts were called to support ground alert and airborne overwatch for the President of the United States. The T-Bolts also continued the “First of the Gunfighters” tradition by being the first F-15E combat unit to employ AGR-20s, including the first F-15 rocket engagement of a one-way attack drone. During the “12 Day War,” the T-Bolts flew 133 sorties, performed 54 dual-engine running integrated combat turns, and shot down 89+2 drones.

Chinese Army ZRY-222 & "Robot Wolves" Robotic Ground Combat System

ZRY-222 is a tracked unmanned combat ground vehicle designed to support PLA ground forces with a mix of reconnaissance, fire support, and risk-reduction roles. Built on a compact remote-operated chassis, it typically carries a heavy machine gun and anti-armour or multi-purpose missiles, allowing it to engage targets without exposing crews. Its sensors and communication suite enable operation across difficult terrain and integration with wider battlefield networks, giving commanders a small, mobile platform that can scout ahead, provide covering fire, or operate as part of a mixed manned–unmanned group.
Quadrupedal “Robot Wolves” are medium-sized autonomous ground systems developed to accompany infantry units and robotic formations in reconnaissance, fire support, and logistics roles. Weighing around 70 kg and designed to move over complex or uneven terrain, they can climb obstacles, maintain formation with troops, and carry sensors or weapons depending on the variant. Their networked architecture allows them to share real-time information with humans and other unmanned systems, contributing to distributed surveillance and coordinated targeting.

Chinese Army ZTZ-100 Main Battle Tank

The ZTZ-100 (Type 100) is a fourth-generation main battle tank (MBT) developed for the People's Liberation Army (PLA). First displayed publicly during the 2025 Victory Day Parade, the vehicle is scheduled for induction into the PLA Ground Force between 2025 and 2026. Its design incorporates an unmanned turret and a three-person crew capsule located within the hull.
Primary armament is a 105 mm autoloaded gun. Secondary armament consists of a remote weapon station (RWS) mounting a 30 mm autocannon and a 12.7 mm machine gun for anti-infantry and light-armour engagements. Protection is provided by a combination of passive composite armour and a dual GL-6 Active Protection System (APS) intended to intercept guided missiles and top-attack munitions.
The vehicle utilises a 1,500 hp hybrid diesel-electric powertrain, providing a top speed of approximately 80 km/h (50 mph) and a reduced acoustic and thermal signature. As a network-integrated platform, the ZTZ-100 functions as a data node, linking with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), artillery, and other combat units for cooperative targeting and beyond-visual-range engagements.
The ZTZ-100 indicates a shift in Chinese armoured doctrine towards lighter, automated platforms. The design prioritises electronic integration and situational awareness over the traditional heavy-tank mass found in earlier ZTZ-96 or ZTZ-99 variants.

Curtiss P-36C. The final production series of the P-36A, featuring additional wing-mounted armament. Used for training and camouflage testing, it offers a visually appealing variety of paint schemes.

Marking options:

Curtiss P-36C, 27th Pursuit Squadron, 1st Pursuit Group,
National Air Races, Cleveland, Ohio, September 1939
Aircraft finished in one of the most distinctive experimental camouflage schemes used by the 27th PS. The temporary, high-contrast paintwork was intended for display purposes and formed part of trials conducted prior to the introduction of standard wartime camouflage schemes.
Curtiss P-36C, 27th Pursuit Squadron, USAAC,
Selfridge Field, Michigan, 1939
Aircraft photographed before the application of display camouflage, finished in the uniform, classic scheme used by frontline units. An example of the early appearance of the P-36C before the intensive camouflage testing phase.
Curtiss P-36C, 23rd Composite Group,
Eglin Field, Florida, 1940
Aircraft used for intensive training and test flights. The unit took part in training interception exercises involving B-25B bombers from James H. Doolittle’s unit, prior to the Tokyo raid in April 1942. The provisional camouflage and visible wear are the result of frequent flying and repeated repainting.
Curtiss P-36C Hawk – a short production run at the dawn of a new era

The Curtiss P-36 Hawk was the first modern American fighter aircraft introduced into frontline service with the USAAC. It was developed in response to rapid changes in global military aviation during the second half of the 1930s and marked a clear departure from earlier biplane designs. Retractable landing gear, an enclosed cockpit, and an all-metal airframe made it the starting point for subsequent generations of American fighter aircraft.

The P-36C version represented the final stage of development of the design and was produced in a very limited run. The final thirty aircraft were completed to a new standard, featuring the Pratt & Whitney R-1830-17 engine rated at 1,200 hp and reinforced armament. Aircraft of this version received additional 0.30-calibre machine guns in the wings, with distinctive external ammunition boxes mounted beneath the wing panels, becoming one of the most easily recognisable features of the P-36C.

The small number of aircraft produced meant that P-36Cs did not form separate, uniform units but were instead dispersed among squadrons operating primarily earlier P-36A aircraft. Their largest concentration was within the 27th Pursuit Squadron, which became a natural base for operational trials and testing of new solutions, including camouflage schemes.

It was the aircraft of the 27th Pursuit Squadron that played a key role in experimental camouflage programmes conducted in 1939. The culmination of these efforts was the participation of P-36Cs in the National Air Races held in September 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio. The aircraft displayed there attracted attention with bold, high-contrast and often temporary camouflage schemes, applied without uniform guidelines and treated as a testing ground for future standards.

As a result, the Curtiss P-36C entered history as one of the most ambiguous and visually diverse Hawk variants. The short production run, dispersal among units and intensive testing meant that nearly every aircraft differed in equipment details and external appearance, making this version particularly attractive to researchers and modelers interested in the transitional period in the development of American fighter.
Schwimmwagen T166 This model assembly kit recreates the wide wheel version of the German Schwimmwagen in 1/35 scale. It compliments Tamiya’s popular German Schwimmwagen (item 35224) kit as it adds a variant version. The wide wheel version included wide tires and added equipment such as MG35 machine gun and two new figures.

About the German Schwimmwagen Type 166 (Wide Wheel Version)
Criss-crossed by rivers and dotted with wetlands, European geography poses significant military challenges and led the German Wehrmacht to develop the Schwimmwagen, an amphibious vehicle based upon the Ferdinand Porsche-designed Kübelwagen. With a 4-cylinder gasoline engine capable of 25hp, the Schwimmwagen featured the 80km/h top speed on ground. The rear three-bladed screw propeller was lowered manually using a rod and provided water speed up to 10km/h. While paucity of materials meant many Schwimmwagen used 133mm tires, those with wider 200mm tires enjoyed superior off-road performance.

• 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 113mm, width: 42mm.
• Features realistic depictions of suspension and 4-cylinder gasoline engine.
• Newly molded C parts realistically recreate the following features: 200mm wide tires (Tires are split into pieces to recreate tire patterns.), wheels, MG34 machine gun, Panzerfaust 30 (anti-tank weapon) and Kar.98k rifle fixed to crossbar, windshield with or without cover, and other equipment.
• Position canteens and helmet as you wish.
• Two new figures (one driver and one officer) are included.
• Decals depict four German Army and two German Air Force number plates, and badges of cap, sleeve and collar.. Price:£18.32

Douglas A-20G Havoc ‘Over Europe and Pacific’ The American A-20 Havoc / Boston twin-engine bombers were deployed on many battlefields of World War II. They were very successful in the Pacific. The A-20G version was equipped with large-caliber machine guns in the nose, the rear hemisphere was guarded with a gun turret with a pair of machine guns of the same caliber. This armament was used in ground attacks, along with bombs dropped from low altitude. In addition to the American ones, RAAF Bostons were also deployed in the Pacific. Australian Bostons organized popular bomb ‘tea parties’. In Europe, the A-20G operated from bases in Italy and Great Britain as tactical bombers in large formations. They were mostly led by A-20Ks with a glass nose and Norden sights. After the invasion of Europe, the A-20G also operated from French bases. This also applies to one of the machines offered in our kits. The machine with invasion stripes was decorated with a drawing of a beauty inspired by famous Vargas. Three more aircraft operated in the Pacific. Two American ones were decorated with nose art, one with a fierce beast mouth on the nose. The last aircraft flew with No.22 Sqn. RAAF.
The kit offers detailed A-20G parts, broken down into five sprues of grey plastic and a sprue of clear parts.

Republic F-84F Thunderstreak part 2 - Armée de l?Air / Belgian Air Force.

The decal sheet contains the following markings:

F-84F Thunderstreak - Armée de l´Air, EC 2/4 Lafayette, 1959.
F-84F Thunderstreak - Armée de l´Air, EC 1/1 Corse, 1956.
F-84F Thunderstreak - Belgian Air Force, 2.Wing Florennes Demo Flight.
F-84F Thunderstreak - Armée de l'Air, EC 2/4 Lafayette, 1959: This machine belonged to Escadron de Chasse 2/4 "La Fayette" (Fighter Squadron 2/4 Lafayette) of the French Air Force (Armée de l'Air). This squadron is historically significant and bears the name of the famous Lafayette Escadrille of World War I, composed of American volunteers. In 1959, the squadron operated F-84F Thunderstreak aircraft, which formed the backbone of the French fighter-bomber force at the time. EC 2/4 Lafayette was part of the 4e Escadre de Chasse (4th Fighter Wing).

F-84F Thunderstreak - Armée de l'Air, EC 1/1 Corse, 1956: this Thunderstreak served with the Escadron de Chasse 1/1 Corse (Fighter Squadron 1/1 Corsica) of the French Air Force. This squadron was part of the 1re Escadre de Chasse (1st Fighter Wing). In 1956, when this machine operated, the French Air Force was undergoing rearmament to more modern jet aircraft and the F-84F represented a significant strike force. The EC 1/1 Corse had a rich history dating back to the First World War.

F-84F Thunderstreak - Belgian Air Force, 2nd Wing Florennes Demo Flight: This F-84F Thunderstreak belonged to the 2nd Wing of the Belgian Air Force, operating out of Florennes. It served in the Demo Flight of this wing. Demonstration squadrons were tasked with demonstrating the capabilities of aircraft and pilots at air shows and public performances. The Belgian Air Force used the F-84F Thunderstreak from 1955 to 1972, and the 2nd Wing was one of the main units operating these aircraft. The squadron's demonstration aircraft often carried special attractive livery.
The F-84F Thunderstreak was an American arrow-wing jet fighter bomber developed by Republic Aviation. Its development followed the earlier F-84 Thunderjet straight-wing type, but the "F" version represented an almost entirely new aircraft. The prototype F-84F first flew in June 1950.

Series production began in 1954, and the aircraft served primarily with the U.S. Air Force's Tactical Air Command as a fighter-bomber for ground attack. A total of 2,711 F-84Fs were produced, more than half of which were delivered to NATO member nations under the Mutual Defense Assistance Program (MDAP).

The F-84F Thunderstreak featured an arrow wing, which allowed it to reach higher speeds than its straight-wing predecessor. It was powered by a Wright J65 jet engine. The aircraft carried an armament of six 12.7 mm machine guns and could carry up to 2,700 kg of external cargo, including bombs and rockets, and even a tactical nuclear weapon.

Although the F-84F was more advanced than the original Thunderjet, its service with the U.S. Air Force's front line was relatively short, as jet technology advanced rapidly and it was soon replaced by more modern machines such as the F-100 Super Sabre. However, the F-84F remained in service with the Air National Guard until the 1970s, and served even longer in many allied countries, such as Turkey until 1982.

The F-84F Thunderstreak saw combat deployment in the French Air Force during the Suez Crisis and the Greek-Turkish conflict over Cyprus, for example. Some modified machines were also used for special purposes, for example in the FICON project.

If necessary, the decal can be removed - washed off with Zippo lighter fluid.. Price:£11.66

Republic F-84F Thunderstreak part 1 - Belgian Air Force.

The decal sheet contains the following markings:

F-84F Thunderstreak - Belgian Air Force, Operational Conversion Unit, 1970.
F-84F Thunderstreak - Belgian Air Force, 2nd Squadron, Florennes.
F-84F Thunderstreak - Belgian Air Force, 2.Wing Florennes Demo Flight.
The Belgian Air Force operated the F-84F Thunderstreak from 1955 to 1972. Belgium received a total of 197 of these fighter-bombers under the MDAP military assistance program. The aircraft served with several squadrons at various bases, with the 2nd Squadron and the 2nd Wing at Florennes playing a significant role.

F-84F Thunderstreak - Belgian Air Force, Operational Conversion Unit, 1970: In 1970, as the F-84F was nearing the end of its service life in the Belgian Air Force (replaced by the more modern Mirage 5), the Operational Conversion Unit was used to retrain pilots to other aircraft types. The use of the Thunderstreak in this unit in 1970 marked the final phase of its service, when it was used to train pilots who would no longer fly it actively.
F-84F Thunderstreak - Belgian Air Force, 2nd Squadron, Florennes: The 2nd Squadron was one of the main units of the Belgian Air Force to operate the F-84F Thunderstreak from its introduction in 1955 until its retirement in 1972, when it was re-equipped with Mirage 5 aircraft. The 2nd Squadron, based at Florennes, was known for its emblem, the red comet. The squadron's aircraft bore a distinctive marking and took part in many exercises and performed the role of fighter-bomber.
The F-84F Thunderstreak - Belgian Air Force, 2nd Wing Florennes Demo Flight: the 2nd Wing at Florennes also operated an aerobatic group (Demo Flight) that performed flight demonstrations in F-84F Thunderstreak aircraft. These demonstrations were used to promote the Air Force and demonstrate the capabilities of the aircraft and pilots. The aircraft for these demonstrations often carried special, attractive camouflage and were flown by selected, experienced pilots.
The Belgian F-84F Thunderstreak played a significant role in the Air Force during the early Cold War. Many were scrapped after retirement, but some have survived as museum exhibits or memorials.

The F-84F Thunderstreak was an American arrow-wing jet fighter bomber developed by Republic Aviation. Its development was a continuation of the earlier F-84 Thunderjet straight-wing type, but the "F" version represented an almost entirely new aircraft.

Rigging Turnbuckles - 4 Types, 136 pcs. 3D printing

High quality turnbuckles.

Elevate Your WWI & Interwar Aircraft Models with Art Scale Kit Turnbuckles

The intricate rigging that defined the iconic biplanes and early monoplanes of the WWI era and the subsequent interwar period is a crucial element for achieving historical accuracy and visual impact. Central to this rigging are turnbuckles (also known as rigging adjusters or Spannschloss in German).

The Role of Turnbuckles in Early Aviation

In full-scale aircraft, turnbuckles served a critical function: they allowed ground crews to precisely adjust the tension and length of the many bracing wires (flying, landing, and cabane wires) that held the fragile wing and fuselage structure together. Without this precise adjustment, the aircraft's structural integrity and flight performance would be compromised.

The Modeler's Challenge

For the scale modeler, replicating these tiny, complex parts is often the most demanding part of building WWI aircraft. Traditional methods using stretched sprue or photo-etched parts are often fiddly, lack the proper three-dimensional depth, and are prone to breakage.. Price:£9.99
