Can you post Xtracolor and Alclad to me?

Please be logged in and add it to your cart. A notice will appear if there is a problem and you will not be able to order it.

Alclad 2 AND Xtracolor and Humbrol etc Enamel paints have become difficult to post. Anything that is not acrylic based is a problem.

You can see more information here http://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/Royal-Mail-Prohibited-and-Restricted-Items.pdf

Even acrylic could become a problem because there is a limit to the number of pots we can put in a parcel. Fortunately this is not a problem yet because they are in plastic bottles so do not show on X-rays like enamels do.

We can now only send Alclad and Enamel based paints if it does not go on an aircraft or a ship. Please be aware that you are not allowed to take it on-board an aircraft yourself. This means by Parcelforce SURFACE rates. Royal Mail will not take it at all. Parcelforce is more expensive but they will take it to most mainland EU countries that they drive to. Greece gets driven to Germany and then flown so we cannot send to Greece or any Islands.

We get no pleasure from not being able to send Alclad or Enamel paints. They are both fantastic products that have consistently been our best selling lines. If we could we would sell them to anyone, anywhere in the world just as we always used to.

Strictly speaking we were NEVER allowed to send these via the post because the flash-point has always been above what is allowed. But we used to be able to because no checks were made. Now checks are made. We have a contract with Royal Mail and Parcelforce and they know what we sell. So they check our parcels by X-raying them. Other firms may still be able to get away with sending paints because there parcels do not get checked.

We should also tell you that we have had a customer made to remove Alclad from hand luggage whilst trying to board an aircraft.
