Among the only very few flaws of the TBF-3 Avenger kit (ex-Accurate
Miniatures), unfortunately the quite visible one, is the propeller with
narrow blades of the earlier TBF-1 version. And as the Dash Three had
propeller blades rather broad, paddle-like, easily fix the issue now
using our set that contains the correct shaped blades and also a new hub
with better detail compared with the kit styrene item.
Grumman TBM-3E Avenger Conversion Set 1/48 / for Accurate/Academy kits The TBM-3E was a lightweight version of the Avenger which begun to come off production lines in 1944. The weight reduction brought better performance and the installation of the APS-4 underwing radar equipment enabled the Avenger for night missions. Our conversion set reflects both the outside and inside changes of the version-a new forward fuselage section, belly gunner station blank off parts, arrestor hook, radar and its rack for the starboard wing and the necessary interior equipment associated with the radar operation. The new parts are resin cast and some also 3D-printed. This set is designed for Accurate Miniatures Avenger kits and all its reboxings by Italeri and Academy. THe decal sheet brings markings for two US Navy airframes operated in the PTO in WW2.
