AOA Decals - AOA72006 - 1:72 | Re-printed! USAF/VNAF Fairchild AC-119G Shadows & AC-119K Stingers in the Vietnam War. This 1/72 decal sheet includes marking options for AC-119G Shadow and AC-119K Stinger gunships in the Vietnam War as operated by the United States Air Force (USAF) and the South Vietnam Air Force (VNAF). Although the AC-119G Shadow variant is not available in kit form, the Shadow can be easily represented by relatively basic modifications to the Italeri/Testors AC-119K Stinger kit. 14 Marking Options Included: Six USAF AC-119G Shadows covering 71st Special Operations Squadron (SOS) and 17th SOS: The Devil's Advocate, City of Columbus Indiana, The Charlotte Representative, Burks Law, and two Charlie Chasers marked aircraft (all options provided also carried a variation of the Shadow III insignia). Six USAF AC-119K Stingers covering 18th SOS: Montezuma's Revenge, Fly United, Good Grief! The Pea-nut Special, The Super Sow, The Polish Cannon, and Black Killer Duck. Two VNAF AC-119G Shadows covering 819th Attack Squadron. NOTE: No specific VNAF AC-119K Stingers from 821st Attack Squadron are provided. However, other than the addition of the the Vietnamese fin flash on the tail, the VNAF Stingers did not appear to have any other unique markings after inheriting the aircraft from 18th SOS. All of the USAF AC-119K aircraft on this sheet were transferred to the VNAF in 1972/73 (minus the nose art), and as such, the Vietnamese fin flashes provided could be used with the AC-119K tail codes to represent a VNAF AC-119K Stinger if desired. Data/stencil sets provided for at least TWO aircraft with variations of certain markings also provided as options. Also included are decals for both the original AeroProducts 4-bladed propellers and the later Hamilton Standard 3-bladed propellers (used by both VNAF options and also Black Killer Duck). Additionally, decals provided for the flare launcher's compressed air/nitrogen bottles' markings and as well as the illuminator's various placards/warnings. Model Maker Decals - D48088 - 1:48 | Archeo Lask Collection. Archeo Lask Collection. 12 planes and helicopters from 32 Air Tactical Base Poland. A group of soldiers, modelers and aviation enthusiasts who are restoring aircraft once used in the Polish Air Force. The organization is non-profit and all the work is done outside of working hours. The collection currently includes twelve aircraft and helicopters and is located on the premises, and each one has its own unique stories. Many of them in his brilliant years served at the airport in Lask. The idea for this decals created on the fifth edition of the Lask Model Show. when it turned out that the number of models aspiring to the awards for the best model in the colors of the collection is low due to the lack of just a decal for these planes and helicopters. I suggested to solve this problem with set for the whole collection, what has been very favorably received by the Group. From this place, I would like to thank all the members of the groups involved Archeo to help where I would like to personally thank Darek Jakubczak, who became some kind of coordinator of this project. The same thanks belong to the president of the association Archeo , Piotr Polit. Due to the very large volume of material we had to compromise approaches to the chessboards and those that are unified on the size of several aircraft in a set put only once. Mushroom Model Publications - MMPCAM20 - No Scale | CAMERA ON 20 3.7 FLAK 18/36/37 Authors Alan Ranger Format A4, 80 pages This latest photo album in the ""Camera On"" series is the first to cover an anti-aircraft weapon alone and whilst there have been a few books previously covering medium German 37mm Flak weapons, the 37 mm Flak 18/36/37 has never been covered in such photographic depth. This truly historically significant World War II weapon (along with the other German 37 mm weapons it evolved into) are illustrated in over 160 photographs. Nearly all of the images are from the author's collection that were originally taken by ordinary German soldiers not professional propagandists. The book shows this rarely illustrated equipment in detail but still shows it as the soldiers viewed it - as both their work place and in some cases also their home - not the highly posed and polished views of the official photographers. This unit was responsible for the air defence of the Shanghai area as well as operational training and featured in the 1987 film 'Empire of the Sun'. The tail character 'Rai' means 'Thunder'. The aircraft of this unit wore a well-maintained and polished finish with little or no wear. 2. 108 Mitsubishi-built A6M3 model 22a (with long barrelled wing cannon) of 582nd Ku at Buin, Bougainville, 1943. This aircraft also exhibits a field applied camouflage of dense mottle. The red tail code has sometimes been depicted as ' 183' or '188' and is sometimes shown with a white outline. In fact the outline is the original amber-grey showing behind the masked numbers and original Japanese sources confirm that the number is 108. Wing leading edges had thin yellow IFF strips to Mitsubishi pattern almost completely concealed by the camouflage overpainting on top of the wing but exposed at the leading edge and below the wing. The fuselage chevron is often depicted as white but is believed to have been yellow. The Spitfires designed and produced by the British firm Vickers Supermarine participated the Battle of Britain and most probably they are the most popular fighters of WWII. Different models arrived Turkey at different times. A batch of 15 Supermarine Spitfire MK.Is were ordered together with the Hawker 'Hurricanes' but only 3 of them were delivered. One of them which was an ex-Polish order arrived in Sept.1938. The other two arrived in 1940. Eventhough serials 4501 to 4515 were allocated by the TuAF they were never used. The planes were deployed at the 42nd Hunter Company. Two of them were returned to RAFME in 1942. The Mk.1s were equipped with a Rolls Royce Merlin-2 engine with an output of 1030HP. Their armament consisted of 8 pieces 0.303 caliper MGs. They were distinctive with their 3-blade propeller. No other Supermarine Spitfire was supplied until mid-1944. In July 1944 39 pcs Mk.Vb was sent from RAF stocks. This was followed by 71 pcs Mk.Vc's and 3 recce version Mk.V/R came in February 1945. Mk.Vb's were deployed at the 1st and 2nd Co.s of the 5th Regiment, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Co.s of the 6th Regiment. The Mk.V/Rs were used with the 'High Altitude Photo-Recce Unit'. These models were distinguished with their four-blade propellers. According to the TuAF sources they were equipped with Rolls Royce Merlin-20 engines with an output of 1500 HP. Tigerhead Decals - THD48010 - 1:48 | Early Arabic Mikoyan MiG-21 F13 Fishbeds. The Mikoyan MiG-21 (Russian: Микоян и Гуревич МиГ-21; NATO reporting name: Fishbed) is a supersonic jet fighter aircraft, designed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau in the Soviet Union. It was popularly nicknamed 'Balalaika', from the aircraft's planform-view resemblance to the Soviet stringed musical instrument or ołowek (English: pencil) by Polish pilots due to the shape of its fuselage. Early versions are considered second-generation jet fighters, while later versions are considered to be third-generation jet fighters. Some 50 countries over four continents have flown the Mikoyan MiG-21, and it still serves many nations a half-century after its maiden flight. The fighter made aviation records. At least by name, it is the most-produced supersonic jet aircraft in aviation history and the most-produced combat aircraft since the Korean War, and it had the longest production run of a combat aircraft (1959 to 1985 over all variants) More | Aircraft decals (military) | Limited Availability | £16.70 | ||

Ventura - VA48108 - 1:48 | RNZAF Curtiss P-40s P-40M-5 NZ3072 "Wairarapa Wildcat" 1943. NZ3072 was delivered by ship to Auckland New Zealand and assembled at Hobsonville in March 1943. It suffered minor damage in New Caledonia on the ferry flight north to the Pacific war zone and was repaired by the local U.S.Army Air Service Command unit. Before handing the aircraft back to the New Zealanders, they painted their unit emblem of a black tomcat on the cowlings. NZ3072 was then allocated to Flying officer Geoff Fisken as his aircraft. It was decided to leave the cat marking on and, as many in the Squadron came from the Wairarapa province of New Zealand, a white 'Wairarapa Wildcat' name was added. Six Japanese flags denoting Fisken's victorys in the defence of Malaya were added and he accumulated a further five victories with No.14 Squadron during their first tour. P-40M NZ3078 in May/June 1943. Squadron Leader Michael J Herrick served in the RAF as a night fighter pilot during the Battle of Britain where he was credited with four victories, plus one damaged. He was posted to No.15 Squadron RNZAF flying P-40 Kittyhawks in February 1943. In April, the squadron moved to Guadalcanal. Herrick's first combat with the Japanese took place on 6 May when he and his wingman shared in the destruction of a float-plane. Herrick shot down an A6M Zero on 7 June when 12 No.15 Squadron P-40s, along with 88 other allied fighters, fought around 50 Japanese fighters. By November 1943 Herrick was commanding No.15 Squadron flying missions to protect the beachhead on Bougainville but on one of these missions, he was wounded in the foot and consequently returned home to New Zealand. By January 1944 Squadron Leader Herrick was back in Europe flying Mosquito night fighters with No.305 (Polish) Squadron. He was shot down and killed on 16 June 1944.
