 | | De Havilland Mosquito Part 4. As you may remember from Part Three of our Mosquito set, we had to spread the FB Mk.VIs over two volumes as we simply had too much material to squeeze into one. This Part Four therefore covers Coastal Command, 100 Group and other uses of the FB VI as well as the TseTse Mk.XVIII which was of course an FB Mk.VI with a big gun slung underneath!
Our author Ian Thirsk was Head of Collections and Research at the RAFM and has also been a volunteer member of the DH Museum's Mosquito restoration team for over forty years, so is the perfect author for such a task.
Once again, we were amazed at the quality of photos that Ian has managed to find. We can usually scrape together one or two interior shots per volume in this series, but Ian digs out so many that we have to leave some out! It's as if he has sent a photographer back in time to capture the exact angles he needs, making this set of Mosquito WPAs arguably the best in the entire series. More |
