Description:: RNZAF Douglas C-47 "Fern Leaf Roundels".

- NZ3553, No.42 Squadron, 1956. VIP configuration. Recommended kit, Monogram.

NZ3553, a C-47B-45-DK, was converted to VIP configuration in 1949 (like a DC-3, but with more comfortable seats etc.) and served with No.41 Squadron, Whenuapai until being passed to No.42 Squadron in November 1953. After a long service career, all with No.42 Squadron, it was finally withdrawn from service on 20 May 1977 and struck off charge on 20 December 1978. NZ3553 had flown a total of 13,701 hours with the RNZAF.
