9P149 + 9K114 Shturm SAT6M System c.1975-present The 9P149 is a tank destroyer of Soviet origin. It was developed to supplement the BRDM-2 based tank destroyers in Soviet service. A more capable tank destroyer was desired with the advent of new Western tank such as the M1 Abrams and Leopard 2.
