Why is there no surface post option?

We are given large volume discounts on Air Parcel rates and we pass these on to you. There are no discounts given on Surface rates. We believe ParcelForce would like to stop surface completely so they do not offer any encouragement to use it. These discounts mean that the cost to send by air is cheaper than the cost to send by surface. In addition parcels sent by surface take 3 to 4 times longer to be delivered, cannot be tracked, cannot be insured and they will not collect them from our warehouse.

We still show Royal Mail surface rates for most countries though we have withdrawn them for some countries after endless problems with parcels not arriving. Very few firms seem to offer the surface option these days and we will probably withdraw most of the ones we show soon.
